How to Convert Video to iPad
Many people use iPad as an ultimate gadget that substitutes a bunch of other devices. Particularly, people often use iPads to watch movies, but it can be quite tricky if the original format of the video isn’t compatible with iPad.
Icecream Media Converter helps you with converting video to iPad and make them suitable for this device even if the initial format isn’t natively supported by it. This tool offers a number of conversion options to make the process easy and quick, and this tutorial will explain you how to deal with this specific task.
Download and install the program
First and foremost, download Icecream Media Converter on our website. The entire process only takes a minute and doesn’t require additional installation software or keys. You just need to click on the “Download” button and save the setup file. After that, run the file and follow the guidelines given by the installation wizard. As soon as the process is completed, open the application and skip to the next point.
Add video file or URL
If you want to download a video from YouTube and convert it to a suitable format, you shouldn’t do these two operations separately – Icecream Media Converter can do both simultaneously. Click on the “Add URL” button and paste a valid YouTube URL into the URL box.
If the video you want to work with has already been downloaded, press the “Add file” button in the main window to open "Add URL" panel. There you should click on icon of a folder and then use Windows explorer to import the video to the program. Find and select the needed file, after that, press “Open” and proceed forward.
Configure output file settings
- Convert to. Your plan is to convert video to video, so you should choose the “Video” option in the “Convert to” section.
- Convert by. In this case, you can either convert by format or by device. Choose the first option if you know what formats you need, or skip to the second option and just choose the device. Doing so, you allow the program to set a suitable format automatically.
- Choose format/device. MPEG-4 is a native video format for iPad, so if you chose “Format” as your conversion type, click on the “Format” box and select MPEG from the dropdown menu.
If you chose the “Device” option, click on the “Device” box and select the model of iPad that you own, for example iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini or iPad Mini 2.
- Choose quality. The higher the quality the larger the size of your output files. If you don’t care about the size, choose the “Best” quality (in this case, the output quality would be equal to the original one). If you want to make your file smaller in size, you can choose “Good”, “Average”, or “Bad” options, which are pretty self-explanatory.

There is a little recycle bin icon to the right of each file in the queue – click on it to delete this file from the queue. “Clear queue” button in the bottom left corner of the queue panel allows you to delete all the files from the queue.
